A little about me: I am the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at EarthLinked Technologies, Inc. I’ve been working in the heating and cooling industry for over 30 years. My goal is to help provide effective leadership for the future growth in the geothermal heat pump market and I chose EarthLinked for that reason. EarthLinked is passionate about breaking new ground in the industry, and I wanted to be a part of it.
Responsibilities
My job is to make sure EarthLinked is a leader in the sustainable energy industry. I am responsible for EarthLinked’s operations worldwide. That includes product development, training programs, standards development and compliance and authorized dealer relationships on a global scale.
Experience
I joined EarthLinked Technologies in 1996, after serving as President of Ray Company, Inc., an HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) contracting firm. Before my time at Ray Company, I was the Vice President of Marketing for Envirotherm Heating & Cooling Systems, Inc. where I worked on a different side of the business as an HVAC manufacturer. Prior to those, I was the Director of Retail Operations for U.S. Power Climate Control, Inc.
I’ve sat in your seat before, whether you’re a consumer looking to put a geothermal system in your home, as a dealer deciding whether or not to sell geothermal, or a manufacturer working to make the product perfect. EarthLinked is the real deal and the best product on the market.
Industry Involvement
In addition to my duties at EarthLinked Technologies, I am an active participant in several HVAC Industry organizations.
As a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) I am a corresponding member of TC 6.8 and have served as chairman of SPC 194 that developed the test methodology for Direct Expansion Ground Source Heat Pumps.
I also serve as Chairman for the Water Source and Geothermal Product Section of the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Institute (AHRI) and its DXG 870-871 Product Sub-Section and Engineering Committee.
My involvement as a voting member of the Canadian Standards Association is currently focused on participation in the development of the C448 Bi-National Standard, serving as Chairman of the Technical Sub-Section Committee for DX systems. Past service at CSA included task group level of service for CSA C748.
I participate on the Board of Directors of the California Geothermal Heat Pump Association (CALGEO) and was recently honored by election to the Board of Directors of the Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO), the national organization dedicated to the advancement of geothermal heat pump installation.
Internationally I continue to be involved in the advancement of geothermal technologies in through participation in industry standards development and installation infrastructure in Australia.
If you managed to get through that long list, you have a lot of dedication. All in all, I’ve got the experience and passion to propel EarthLinked and the industry forward. I’ve been challenging the health and wellness of the geothermal heating and cooling industry since day one and EarthLinked puts me in a great position to continue doing so. I want to advance and modernize everything about heating and cooling, making life easier for people and the planet.
Personally
I live in Lakeland, Florida with my wife Diane and our two cats, Mocha and Vespa. When I’m not working I like to stay active, spending time at the gym, running, and riding my bikes. I also enjoy playing, collecting and rebuilding guitars and amplifiers.
