EarthLinked’s renewable energy systems can be installed in any home, regardless of property size.

Is something holding you back from using geothermal for your heating, cooling and humidity control needs? Let’s set the record straight about some common misconceptions, we’re going to bust the myths about geothermal heating and cooling.

Myth 1: My yard is too small for a geothermal system.

EarthLinked’s renewable energy systems can be installed in any home, regardless of property size. We offer nine different earth loop system configurations, which allow us the flexibility to install geothermal solutions in both larger and smaller properties. Some diagonal earth loop configurations have been installed in areas as small as 3’ in diameter.

Myth 2: The earth loops used in geothermal systems take a long time to install.

A well-constructed 2,000-square-foot home requires a 3-ton direct exchange system. Loops for a 3-ton system can be installed in one to two days.

Myth 3: Geothermal systems are noisy.

One of the major drawbacks to a conventional heating and air conditioning system is the noisy equipment. With an EarthLinked Renewable Energy System, you don’t require the same outdoor mechanisms, meaning that you don’t have to deal with the pesky sounds that come with it. Geothermal solutions operate smoothly and quietly.

Myth 4: Geothermal systems can’t be installed in the city.

Through the use of unique earth loop configurations, our direct exchange system can be installed in nearly any home or location.

Myth 5: Geothermal systems don’t work in the North because it’s too cold.

While conventional HVAC systems have to adjust to the fluctuations in air temperature, EarthLinked’s Renewable Energy System uses the constant temperature of the Earth to provide your home with temperature and humidity control year-round.

Myth 6: My home is too old for a geothermal system.

No matter the age of your home, you can reap the rewards of owning a geothermal system including a decreased carbon foot and an increased property value.

Myth 7: Geothermal systems require a lot of complicated maintenance.

EarthLinked’s fully enclosed systems are simple by design. With less components than conventional HVAC systems, they are more reliable and require less maintenance. Through the use of earth loop protection for the in-ground copper, our earth loops are not subject to corrosion.

EarthLinked’s Renewable Energy System can use the excess heat from your home to heat water.

Myth 8: Geothermal systems can’t heat water.
EarthLinked’s Renewable Energy System can optimize your energy usage by using the excess heat from your home to heat water up to 110° Fahrenheit.

Myth 9: Geothermal energy systems can only heat homes, not cool them.

During the winter, the Earth is used as a source of heat. During the summer, the ground stores the heat removed from your home. Thus, EarthLinked’s Renewable Energy System fulfills 100% of your heating, cooling and humidity control needs.

Myth 10: Geothermal systems are expensive.

While there is an initial investment cost, the long-term savings make geothermal the optimal solution for your home. EarthLinked’s renewable energy systems have the potential to save you 40-60% on your utility bills. As a renewable energy product, the EarthLinked system allows you to take advantage of up to a 30% federal tax credit for residential installations, and 10% for commercial installations, as well as other local and state incentives, rebates and financing.  See rebates for your area.
